Thank you for writing this, Kelly! I also always feel pulled between being a nomad and entrenching myself in one place. It seems like this time of year is when I most feel the urge to uproot. I grew up in Eastern Idaho and have been living in Atlanta for the past 3 years. I feel I have gotten used to the big city, but this fall I've been really wanting to move back west. I'm always longing for "home", but maybe it's not a place, but the people I'm with.
Eastern Idaho- where it’s deep wilderness or the open hills of farms and meandering rivers? I think some of can never quite get rid of these pulls and should consider just embracing it is always a part of us and we might need to do both.
Thank you for taking the time to respond. I grew up mostly near Idaho Falls which is surrounded by farms, but the wilderness isn't far from there. I grew up on 9 acres of farmland (1 mile from the Snake River). I agree, I think we'll always be drawn to travel and then to come back home.
