This is ground shots web, a publication from the desk of philosopher, botanist and wanderer Kelly Moody, host of the Ground Shots Podcast. The publication weaves ecology and emergent philosophy, stories and connection.

The Of Sedge and Salt blog was a free writing project I conducted for years that included a travel blog, poetry, botanical writings and socio-political ecology writings.

The Ground Shots Zine is a physical zine project weaving avant-garde word play somatically rising in response to curious distillation of social and ecological intersections. Some of what I share here will carry on the tradition of these projects in form and style, as I explore what voices make up Ground Shots, of which there are several.

Consider this a space that merges the honesty, vulnerability and intellectual inquiry woven into what those projects have channeled over the years with more candidness, self reflection, critically woven ecology writings, poetry, land-based prose and more.

I share regular audio pondering through Ground Shots extras for paid subscribers, folks who are fans of the Ground Shots Podcast who want to hear more.

At some point I’ll organize this space into regular column writing weekly or biweekly updated but for now I’m exploring what it is for me and how much I want to share of my inner world.

More vulnerable work is strictly behind a paywall here, or potentially for a future private Substack publication by request or invite only.

Come along and hang with me, by subscribing to ground shots web for free with some digests published for paid subscribers and ground shots extras audio episodes for paid subscribers.
